Dr. Bernstein is a chiropractor that integrates chiropractic treatment, physiotherapy, nutrition, and exercise physiology in the treatment and prevention of physical disorders. His multi-disciplinary approach to treating patients can include, when appropriate, massage therapists, accupuncturists, orthopedic surgeons, neurological surgeons, neurologists and other specialized professionals. He has been extensively published in the Journal of Sports Medicine and the National Journal of Strength and Conditioning in the field of exercise physiology.
A Calabasas, California native, Dr. Matthew D. Bernstein is both a doctor of chiropractic and a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS). He has a passion for chiropractic and sports medicine, and his chiropractic treatments are designed to provide quick joint and muscle pain relief to each of his patients.
Dr. Bernstein received his Bachelors degree from Occidental College in Eagle Rock, California, where he completed his pre-med studies in kinesiology. Dr. Bernstein then received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences. He served his internship at the California State University of Northridge, where he treated intercollegiate student athletes as well as the general student population. During his chiropractic education, Dr. Bernstein completed the national strength and conditioning associations CSCS program. He has worked extensively with professional, collegiate, and high school athletes to improve their sports specific skills. He is a licensed chiropractic physician in California and was formerly a practicing chiropractor at Trillium Sports Medicine in Calabasas, California.
